FPSO Internal Inspections

For the last 4 years IE has been inspecting FPSO ballast tanks for our clients. By filling the tanks to "tank tops" with clean seawater; the ROV has been able to inspect the full tank interior including the under-deck. This has reduced the requirement for manned entry into these hazardous areas. Tasks have included taking bottom samples, inspecting walkways and ladders,  coating and corrosion surveys, wall thickness measurements, stringer and Frame damage assessment after hull collisions, ballasting system leak investigation and location, GRP pipework failure investigation, actuator investigation, debris recovery and  marine life clearance surveys.
Full tanks eliminates free surface effect, the water becoming remarkable still and clear despite vessel movement.
